For the past three years every summer we do a road trip to different places in the U.S. But traveling in 2020 has definitely changed due to a pandemic. Most of the attractions were closed, so we had to make some adjustments on our traveling adventures. We decided to do national parks and caverns. Our destination is Niagara Falls, NY. Traveling from TX to NY is one challenging road trip especially with a baby, a toddler and a teen. So what we decided to do was to drive a maximum of 4 to 6 hours a day. So we stop at every state on our way to NY.
Our first stop was Hot Springs, Arkansas. Here we visited the botanical garden called Garvan Woodland Gardens. A very beautiful, greenery park. With a beautiful chapel.
Our second stop was Sullivan, Missouri. We visited the Meramec Caverns. It was an amazing experience and one that I would want to go back for sure! The beautiful natural made scenery was breathtaking.
Our third stop is what they called the mini Niagara falls. The Cumberland Falls State Resort Park in Kentucky. A beautiful waterfall with an amazing hiking trails.
Finally our destination, Niagara Falls, NY. So excited to experience an amazing waterfall like no other. Especially admiring the rainbow in the morning.
Unfortunately due to the pandemic, all attractions were closed so we didn’t get the opportunity to ride the boat. I enjoyed this road trip with my family. Even though it was a bit challenging due to a baby, a toddler and a teen. Road trips have become our summer family tradition. Were will we go next? You are just going to have to wait and see.
What are your family traditions that you do every summer?
